Welcome to IROA
Imaging Radiology Oncology Assciation (IROA) is a national collection of medical industry professionals reliant on imaging procedures for the detection and treatment of Cancer. IROA was formed due to the need for a cohesive representation of the diagnostic imaging community. The association will increase the public’s awareness of the benefits of undergoing diagnostic procedures that often promote early detection of Cancer. IROA will also employ a lobbying group in Washington, D.C. to effectively represent Doctors and Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs) across the nation. IROA will communicate to Congress and the public that IDTFs operate in a more efficient manner than hospitals, effectively reducing the overall cost of the healthcare system.
Mission Statement
Through collaboration and determination, we can achieve a unified front in representing Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs), Radiologists, and Oncologists to ensure the improvement of efficiencies and access to life-saving diagnostic tests; while policing and managing regulatory legislation that would affect the diagnostic imaging community.
Mission – IROA’s primary mission shall be:
- Lobbying – IROA shall employ lobbyists to promote and protect the collective interests of the full members of IROA and the medical imaging industry as a whole.
- Ethics – IROA members will adhere to a strict ethics code that prevents pay per-scan fees that we believe that are hurting our industry as a whole.
- Marketing – IROA shall develop and implement a national marketing and public education program to promote and protect the collective interests of the full members of IROA and the medical imaging industry as a whole. The purpose of this marketing campaign shall be to educate the public on the benefits of diagnostic imaging procedures, the importance of maintaining the public’s accessibility to imaging procedures, and the benefits of utilizing independent diagnostic testing facilities as opposed to treatment in hospital settings.
Why Join IROA?
IROA exists to represent the interests of all Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs), Radiologists, and Oncologists as well as the general public who will also benefit from IROA’s mission. Benefits of Membership include:
- a. Annual and Quarterly Events – IROA will sponsor regular events to advise its membership of new developments relevant to its membership.
- b. National registry for doctors and facilities (driving a higher expectation)
- c. Patient Education, Information, and Referral system
- d. Monthly Newsletter – IROA will publish for its members' exclusive use a monthly newsletter of industry developments, legislative activity of interest to its membership, lobbying activities, marketing efforts and other action of IROA.
- e. Online Private Registry – IROA shall maintain a private, secure, online registry of IROA’s members, searchable and organized by name, specialty, practice, city, state, and region.
- f. Best Practices – Develop and publish for its members a Best Practices Plan to improve full members’ profitability and efficiency.
- g. Better Pricing on Insurance – Negotiate optional group insurance plans which full members may join to obtain better rates for insurance including but not limited to: malpractice, comprehensive general liability, casualty, workers compensation, health and life.
- h. Assistance with Capital Equipment Negotiations, Service Contract Negotiations, and Consumable Supplies Purchasing at lower rates than available to individual practitioners, clinics, and practice groups. Additionally, IROA members will have access to assistance with Managed Care and other payers rate negotiations. Rates shall be negotiated within given markets with Managed Care providers and other payers of health benefits. Note: all such negotiations shall be conducted in conformity with applicable price-fixing and anti-competitive laws.

IROA is pleased to offer inaugural members an introductory first year rate. Details to be announced.
